a Julie Jones,
CNM

Julie is a mom and a board Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM ) licensed in the state of Utah. She has the authority to prescribe and manage medications. She provides labor and delivery services in the hospital and provides women’s healthcare in the clinic. She feels women should have safe choices for life’s changes.

She is married, has two children and two dogs. She has been a nurse-midwife since 1995 and a nurse since 1983. She likes to read, garden, ski, go on hikes, watch TV and go to Disneyland.

Education
Julie graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She completed postgraduate work also at the University of Utah with a Master of Science degree in Nurse-Midwifery. Since becoming a nurse she has worked in a variety of areas: cardiac transplant, neurology and labor and delivery. Her favorite are was being a ob flight nurse prior to graduating in mid-wifery.

Elizabeth Harmer Paula Thacker,
APRN, CNM, WHNP


Paula Thacker is a mother, a grandmother and a board Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She is licensed with the State of Utah to provide health care to women in both the clinic and hospital settings. She has the authority to prescribe and manage medications in both settings.

Her expertise extends from the young teenage patient, to prenatal care, midlife and on to menopause management.

She loves the idea of getting to know each of her patients personally, in order to participate in providing them with the best individualized health care possible.

She is married to a very patient husband; they have a “yours,mine and ours” family of 6 children, who are all grown & married with children of their own. She especially enjoys her big family, their cabin in the mountains, baking and a good book.

Education
Paula is a BYU graduate with a Master of Science in Nursing. She also has completed Post-Graduate degrees from the University of Utah as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 2000.

She has worked within the realm of women's health services through her entire nursing career. Over a span of greater than 35 years, she has worked in the capacity of labor and delivery nursing, education, administration and as Director of Women's Services in the hospital setting, and finally as a Certified Nurse Midwife & Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. However, she feels her most satisfying work is done as she observes women becoming empowered to make informed, safe health care decisions for themselves and their families.

 

a Mandy Johnson, WHNP, MS

Mandy is a mom as well as a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). She is licensed in the state of Utah, with the authority to prescribe and manage medications. She provides a full scope of women’s healthcare in the clinic. Her practice is based on providing care that is comprehensive and individualized. She loves the idea that she can be involved in all stages of a woman’s healthcare throughout her lifetime. Her priorities include education, prevention and treatment. 


Education
Associate degree in Nursing from Weber State University 1999.
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Weber State University 2001.
Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah in 2004.


 She has been a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 2004, and prior to that a Registered Nurse for five years.

She is married and has two boys, Trevor and Andrew.

She likes to read, run, go camping, cook, and spend time with her family.

Elizabeth is a Certified Nurse Midwife as well as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys providing empathetic care to women in the clinic setting. Her specialties include helping busy women to make their own physical and emotional health a priority in their lives and solving minor gynecological problems. She also enjoys supporting women through labor and birth and hopes to return to attending deliveries in the future.

Education
Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Nursing degree from Brigham Young University in 1998. She then worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for five years. She received a Master’s of Science in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Utah in 2003 and a post graduate certificate for Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner in 2005. Since becoming a nurse midwife, she has worked in a variety of setting and has provided contraception counseling, preconception counseling, prenatal care, delivery care, post partum care, annual exams, and care for gynecological problems and menopause. She has also provided care in an emergency room for pregnant women.

Elizabeth is married and spends most of her time parenting her four young children. She also enjoys cooking (especially the eating part), gardening, and hiking.

We believe that every woman has unique emotional, educational, and health care needs that can best be met by a personalized approach. We strive to do our best to provide you with health care that meets your needs. We will take time to review your personal and family history and perform a complete and gentle examination. We will also offer laboratory and screening exams that
are specific to your age. In our clinic is where caring happens. It is also where women are empowered to take charge of their health.

We are able to provide you with a full scope mid-wifery and women’s health services that is comprehensive and individualized. We provide care
for women who are adolescents, of child bearing age and those experiencing peri, pre, and post menopause. We provide the following services which includes but not limited to: pregnancy, labor and delivery services at Intermountain Medical Center and Pioneer Valley Hospital (Julie and Paula), pre-marital and pre-mission exams, pre-conception counseling, yearly gynecological well woman exams, management of uncomplicated menopause, contraception, family planning, sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, management of uncomplicated vaginal/bladder infections, minor menstrual disorders, bioidentical hormones for various reasons and much more. We will be providing labor and delivery services at the new IHC Riverton Hospital in November 2009.


Labor and Delivery
Julie and Paula are in a partnership practice. They share call with each other for the practice. They strive to be with you after active labor begins and before transition depending on your unique needs and your labor progress. Their Her goal is to give you personalized attention during your labor as best the situation allows. If a cesarean section is necessary, Julie or Paula will assist the physician, if forceps or vacuum extraction are needed they will also be there. Your pregnancy and delivery may not always be like you planned, but a healthy baby and mother is ultimately the end goal. We thank you for your patience.

Our Staff
Your healthy children are welcome in the clinic. We ask that you do not leave them unattended, as our staff is not available to supervise them. Please pick up after your children so others may enjoy a clean room as well. Your healthy friends and family are also welcome.

Children and Food
Please refrain from eating or consuming liquids other than water in our clinic. There is no smoking in our clinic or surrounding areas. We thank you for your cooperation to keep our clinic looking clean and to keep bugs out of our clinic.
